Tax Free Childcare Scheme & Vouchers

Tax Free Childcare Scheme
Happy Days Nursery encourages payments via the Government's Tax-Free Childcare Scheme as it enables parents to take advantage of savings of up to £2,000 per year on their childcare fees. For full details of the scheme, and to check eligibility, visit the Government website, www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

Voucher Schemes
Happy Days Nursery accepts payments via childcare voucher schemes.

Early Years Education Funding

Eligible families are entitled to 15 or 30 hours per week of government funding over 38 weeks, in line with school term time,  including working parents with children of 9 months plus, as well as families in receipt of other government support with children who are 2 years old. Regardless of your eligibility for funding, all children are entitled to 15 hours funding over 38 weeks from the term after their third birthday.

At Happy Days Nursery funding can be used with any of our sessions, enabling parents to access their child's funding entitlement flexibly, combining funded hours with our standard sessions to provide childcare throughout the year.

Check your eligibility for funding at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk. Eligible families will get an online childcare account and receive a code for their funded hours. Please note you cannot apply for funding and use it in the same term so you will need to plan ahead. Once we have your funding code and national insurance number we can check it is valid ensuring funding is in place from the start of the next term. Parents will also be required to complete a Parental Declaration Form and provide their child's original birth certificate or passport when first applying for funding.  Don't forget to confirm your code every three months or it will expire for future terms.

Please contact the office for further information and details of our delivery patterns for government funding . Please note entitlement to a Free Early Education place does not offer a guarantee of a place at any one provider or a particular pattern of delivery.

From September 2025 government funding will be increased to 30 hours per week over 38 weeks for all eligible working families.

Free for 2’s

Kent County Council continues to offer some means tested funding for two year olds. Your child may be entitled to a funded place (up to 15 hours) if you are in receipt of certain benefits and your child’s date of birth falls within a particular date range. We offer Free for 2 spaces subject to availability. Further information is available from the Kent County Council website - click here for the link.

How To Pay

Payment is due monthly in advance, with your first invoice due on your child's first day. Subsequently, invoices are raised monthly and payment is due by the 1st of each month.  Payment can be made in a variety of ways including direct debit, debit card, bank transfer, tax free scheme, childcare vouchers or cash. We do not accept cheques. Our Famly App facilitates easy administration of payments.

Our fees are spread equally over the year, so every month they will be the same. This enables parents and carers to budget more easily. Fees are based on 50 weeks a year, so any periods of closure, such as Bank Holidays or our Christmas closure are excluded ensuring parents are not charged for these days.
